For reasons unknown to me, Tyler-Ann has developed a real soft spot for The Christmas Box House. With her Christmas money she bought three pairs of shoes and donated them to the Ogden Christmas Box House as well as some of her gently used toys. Every time we drive by she insists on stopping in and picking up their new "wish list".
Below is an overview of The Ogden Christmas Box House taken from their website.
The Ogden Christmas Box House is a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week emergency shelter for victims of child abuse and neglect. It serves children up to the age of seventeen. The children who come here receive mental, emotional, and physical help by loving and caring staff members until an appropriate placement has been set up or until their environment at home is safe.
The shelter provides fun, educational group activities with the children in its care. Groups are encouraged to hold scheduled activities away from our facility such as: a local park, restaurant or church. This allows the children to be out and gain socialization skills.
Here is a copy of their current "wish list". If you are able, please get involved. As you can see, it doesn't take a lot. Just simple little things that we take for granted everyday. Next time you are at the store pick up something extra and take it over. They are always very kind and gracious and always excited to accept anything to help these children.- Children's Clothing
